My First Dedication

so i've never had any thing dedicated to me before...

and today for the first time, i have.

my mom dedicated this song to me.

she said it touched her heart,

and made her feelings soar,

because it said absolutely everything

she'd want to ever say to me.

she bought the CD,

i found it,

i asked about it;

and then she told me it was mine to keep.

the song is Find Your Wings, by Mark Harris:

It's only for a moment you are mind to hold

The plans that heaven has for you

Will all too soon unfold

So many different prayers I'll pray

For all that you might do

But most of all I'll want to know

You're walking in the truth

And if I've never told you

I want you to know

As I watch you grow

I pray that God will fill you heart with dreams

And that faith gives you the courage

To dare to do great things

I'm here for you whatever this life brings

So let my love give you roots

And help you find your wings

May passion be the wind

That leads you through your days

And may convictioin keep you strong

Guide you on your way

May there be many moments

That make your life so sweet

But more than memories

CHORUS

It's not living if you don't reach for the sky

I'll have tears as you take off

But I'll cheer as you fly

CHORUS

---

it was a great song to be dedicated.

especially seeing as it was my first dedication.

Thank you, Mom. I love you too.

there's a lot to look foward to.

i'm still looking foward to it.

hmm.. update?

yes, i suppose so.

well well.  not much to say really.

EXCEPT
that i went to louisiana for the first time in my life
the day i took the ACT, of which i hope i did well on.

lets see.  we left after i took it.  went to get my aunt in
stilwell, ok.  and started south.  we were in texas that night by... i think it was 5?
and we were in shreveport *sp>?* by like... 8 or nine because
i remember that we ate at 1 o' clock and didn't get checked into
a hotel until nine, hence putting us at dinner around nine 30ish.

our shower didn't work.  i got in at 11.  it didn't drain the water.
the little asian manager came at midnight and didn't leave till midnight 45ish.
that's okay.  at least he said sorry.

i saw corn fields for the first time in my life.
and cyprus trees, which are now my favorite.
and spanish moss.
...whatelse was there?  i know there was tons more, and that's why i can't remember it all.

oh yeah!  i saw my first swamp!!!  the achafalya *can't spell it, but that's how it sounds*  it was like... an 11 mile bridge!!

lsu is gorgeous.  so pretty in fact... that i felt like i was cheating on the u of a.  i felt like a slut all week, because i was falling in love with lsu, and i've been loyal since 3rd grade to the u of a.  change in majors now.  i don't think i could grow up and go without architecture; i fell completely in love.
and once i get a working camera i'll take pics of the projects i salvaged.  like a tiny model, some lame looking cubes, and a meditation center *aka cardboard box*.

it was amazing.
take my word for it.

there's still a lot to look foward to...
i'm looking foward to it.

got back from the frontlines camp yesterday around 8 pm.

IT WAS AMAZING.
and i brought back a trophy for the band.
i can honestly say that..
if i had went to that camp for myself
i wouldn't have been nearly as successful.
but i went for the band, and i worked my butt off for the band.
and the band....

by God, xanga readers

is going to be FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
they already are...
so put that right on top of it.
and what do you get?
Staight ONES at contest.

i met a lot of amazing people at camp too...
*Ahem Ahem*
Brittany.  Moriah.  Jenne.  Mr. O'K.  Jeremy.  Marie.
and... crap i can't list all of them because it'd take too much typing and i'm scared that i'd mutilate the spelling of some of the names.
DM's from Frontlines, if you read this,
comment me back and tell me how to spell your names.

saturday i take the ACT and leave immediately
for Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
for the LSU School of ARchitecture - Summer Career Discovery Workshop.
oh.

oh this summer is so magnificent.
and only not even halfway gone.
a lot to look foward to.
i'm looking foward to it.

i think that's my new quote.

second day in work, and my shoulders are peeling.

got a full day in today, and i'll get a full day in tomorrow.
then tuesday we leave at four a.m. to go to the frontlines camp.
(drum major trianing)

lots to look foward to this summer.
i'm looking foward to it.
